I slept through the night and got off on time, so the day started out with no complaints. Once I got home, I worked on a little homework in between watching a few episodes of L&W:SVU. The afternoon passed pretty quick and then I headed down to Woodburn to meet up with my uncle Dave to go to a concert as my birthday present (thats what my uncle does every year, last year he took me to see B.B. King, remember?). The concert was actually in Silverton, but we figured it would be easier to meet up and drive in together. It was two acts with the first being Buddy Guy, who is an amazing blues guitarist who I have seen once before. The closing act was George Thorogood (as pictured above) and the Delaware Destroyers. I have never seen them before and they were quite entertaining (they play the songs bad to the bone, get a hair cut and get a real job, and one bourbon, one scotch, and one beer). It was quite the concert because of all the excitement going on in my section of the crowd. It was at the Oregon Gardens (which is really pretty) outdoor theater. They had about 5 sections fenced off as reserved and then we were sitting on the grass only 1 row behind the fence. During the Buddy Guy show, some people came up and pushed their way to the front of the people who had been sitting for hours, people started getting up set, then drinks started getting thrown in peoples faces, and then people started shoving. It was pretty intense. So, between acts, our crowd took over the area and pushed into the front. This big guy was standing next to me and he made me promise to hold my ground, haha. So, right after the music starts, this lady pushes her way in front of me and I grab her shoulders and move her back behind me and the guy next to me yells, yeah!, and gives me a high five. Then she tries again, and he moves her back (repeating the yeah! and high five), and then she tried a third time and the big guys girlfriend grabs her and starts cussing her out (which leads to about 10 people screaming yeah! and tons of high fives). Then they finally moved on; we kept our ground. It was ridiculous and my uncle and I laughed about it all the way back to Woodburn. Needless to say, it was quite the entertaining night! Love you Paige!
